The GIP team will meet for a work-report meeting on May 24th-25th, 2016 in Limassol, Cyprus. The agenda of the meeting can be found here.pdf
The joint paper with the Greenblatt, Zussman, Greiner, and Rokem groups on bioremediation with yeast http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acs.biomac.5b00970 were recently discussed in an interview with Chemical Engineering News by Neil Savage which can be found under http://cen.acs.org/articles/93/web/2015/09/Yeast-Filled-Fibers-Treat-Polluted.html
On March 15th-April 5th, Maysa Jbarien, a master student from Hebrew university of Jerusalem in Prof. Golenser’s group, visited our research labs for learning new techniques for fabrication of drug loaded nanofibrous scaffolds based on electrospinning.

In the frame GIP Steffen Reich from the Greiner group visited the labs GIP labs of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the Technion in Haifa.
The first stage was at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem from 16.02.2015.till 19.02.2015. Professor Charles Greenblatt and Ilya Letnik gave a supervision in staining the micrococcus luteus. Additionally, the metal uptake of bacteria encapsulated by different polymers were implemented.
The second stage was at the Technion in Haifa from 22.02.2015 till 26.02.2015. Under supervision of Professor Eyal Zussman and Ron Avrahami polymer encapsulated bacteria were electrospun and analyzed.

On September 8th-10th, 2014 The GIP met in Larnaca, Cyprus for a report meeting. The achieved results were discussed intensively and plans for further cooperation were decided.
Fabian Mitschang has just now finished successfully his PH. D. defense. He will now take over 3 month responsibility in the GIP project for the cooperation with the group of Prof. Z. Abdeen.
The report meeting of the GIP team will take place on September 8th-9th, 2014 in Larnaca, Cyprus.
On May 2014 Kathrin Bubel passed the defense of his Ph.D. thesis in Marburg. Kathrin accomplished wonders in making novel water-based electrospinning formulation for the GIP project. Good luck Kathrin for the future and please keep in touch with us.
On September 2013 Amir Reza Bagheri arrived in Bayreuth. In the frame of his Ph. D. thesis he will contribute to the GIP projects. He is an expert in pharmaceutical chemistry with the emphasis on polymer materials for medical applications.
On August 2nd 2013 Christian Knierim passed the defense of his Ph.D. thesis in Marburg. Christian contributed significantly for the preparation of the GIP project and spent to month in the labs our cooperating Israeli and Palestine groups. Good luck Christian for the future and please keep in touch with us.
The kick-off meeting of the GIP project took place on 19th September, 2013 at the University of Bayreuth, Germany.
